c:\SharePointFiles\SharePoint /extract:c:\SharePointFiles error Installing SharePoint 2010 foundation on Windows 7
If your following the MSDN article Setting Up the Development Environment for SharePoint 2010 on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008
for installing SharePoint 2010 foundation then you might get confused or i should say annoyed using the command
c:\SharePointFiles\SharePoint /extract:c:\SharePointFiles
used for extracting the files from SharePointFoundation setup.
If you have just downloaded the SharePoint Foundation 2010 and have not renamed the setup exe then the command actually works like this
c:\SharePointFiles\> SharePointFoundation.exe /extract:c:\SharePointFiles
or if you wanna use SharePointFiles\SharePoint /extract:c:\SharePointFiles
just rename your exe to SharePoint.exe and then run
c:\>SharePointFiles\SharePoint /extract:c:\SharePointFiles
