Set-up Mobile views in SharePoint Server 2010

In Microsoft SharePoint Server, mobile views are enabled by default for most lists or libraries created using default templates. Mobile views are not enabled by default for custom lists, custom libraries, or for lists or libraries created in previous versions of SharePoint that have been upgraded to SharePoint Server. Mobile views are not available for Datasheet and Gantt view types.

To configure mobile view for a list

1. In the list in which you want to configure mobile view, in List Tools, click the List tab on the ribbon.

2. In the tools ribbon, click Modify View.

3. On the Edit View page, expand Mobile, and then configure the following settings.

4. Enable this view for mobile access Select this setting to enable this view for mobile access.
Make this view the default view for mobile access Select this setting to make this view the default view for mobile access.

5. Number of items to display in list view web part for this view Type the number of items you want to display in the list view Web Part for this view.

6. Field to display in mobile list simple view Select the field to display in the mobile list simple view.

To configure mobile view for a library

1. In the library in which you want to configure mobile view, in Library Tools, click the Library tab on the ribbon.

2. In the tools ribbon, click Modify View.

3. On the Edit View page, expand Mobile, and then configure the following settings.

4. Enable this view for mobile access Select this setting to enable this view for mobile access.

5. Make this view the default view for mobile access Select this setting to make this view the default view for mobile access.

6. Number of items to display in list view web part for this view Type the number of items you want to display in the list view Web Part for this view.

7. Field to display in mobile list simple view Select the field to display in the mobile list simple view.
